Are you wondering how to take your conference paper and turn it into an article for submission to a journal?

Would you like an opportunity to get feedback from the JER’s editors and your SHEAR colleagues?

The Journal of the Early Republic is pleased to announce and invite applications for a “From Conference Paper to Article” Workshop, to be held in conjunction with the annual meeting in July 2021.  This workshop is open to anybody on the program for SHEAR’s Annual Meetings for 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Join the JER’s editors and your peers for this workshop to share your paper and to support your colleagues. Please submit the title of your conference paper and a short c.v. to Johann Neem (journaloftheearlyrepublic@wwu.edu) by May 15, 2021 for consideration.

Workshops will be scheduled following SHEAR’s July 2021 conference and will meet online. Participants will be asked to share a copy of their conference paper and a cover letter detailing ideas/plans for revisions. They will also be asked to provide feedback on their colleagues’ papers and abide by SHEAR’s Statement of Values. Conference papers and cover letters will be due by June 30, 2021.

Workshops will take place July 26 or July 27 from 9am-2pm EDT.

The fine print:

• If space is limited, priority will be given to junior, untenured, and/or non-university scholars.
• If demand is high, additional workshops may be facilitated by SHEAR scholars other than the JER’s editors.
