Barringer Gordon and Shipps Win 2018 Arrington-Prucha Prize
The Journal of the Early Republic is pleased to announce that Sarah Barringer Gordon and Jan Shipps’s 2017 article “Fatal Convergence in the Kingdom of God: The Mountain Meadows Massacre in American History” has won the 2018 Arrington-Prucha Prize from the Western History Association. The Arrington-Prucha Prize recognizes the best article on American western religious history. The WHA has written, “the Prize Committee was extremely impressed with the originality of ‘Fatal Convergence in the Kingdom of God,’ its scope, and its significant contribution to the study of the North American West.” Please join us in extending a huge and hearty congratulations to Sally and Jan for this accomplishment!
