Call For Submissions: Teaching the EAR

June 4, 2025

The Panorama, the digital arm of the Journal of the Early Republic, seeks contributors for a series on teaching the early American republic. With the academic year at a close, this is a good time to reflect on pedagogy, lesson plans, and student engagement. What has worked well in your classroom in the last year (or what could have gone better)? We welcome submissions that reflect on any element of your classroom experience teaching the history of the United States from the Revolution through the Civil War.

Contributions could include reviews of texts and sources; example lesson plans or discussion questions derived from a specific source; discussion of student reception; ruminations on how resources impact your pedagogy; or much-needed advice on how to handle the challenges of AI.

Posts should range from 500-1000 words, otherwise adhering to the guidelines for Pano posts. If interested, please submit to Emily Arendt at Emily.Arendt@msubillings.edu by June 30, 2025. Feel free to reach out to her with any questions or to discuss further.
