Message from SHEAR President Serena Zabin Regarding Marymount University

Headshot of Serena ZabinAs the Chronicle of Higher Education reported this week, Marymount University has proposed cutting ten programs from its curriculum, including history.  In support of our fellow historians, both at Marymount and at other institutions facing similar threats, please consider signing the petition to the Marymount Board of Trustees that Marymount students, alumni, and faculty have organized. Enough public protest may convince administrators and boards to think twice before they propose eliminating history programs in the future.

  • Robert Pierce Forbes says:

Now Marymount’s administration chooses to eliminate history, English, humanities? This is a strike against civilization. It is the infliction of cultural dementia. It is not worthy of a university, much less a Catholic one.
