Call for Applications: William L. Clements Library 2021-22 Research Fellowships

The William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan is accepting applications for 2021-2022 research fellowships. Specializing in American history, with particular strengths in the 18th and 19th centuries, the Clements Library holds a rich collection of primary resources, including books, manuscripts, prints, maps, photographs, and much more. The holdings support diverse research topics including: military history, gender and ethnicity, religion, the American Revolution, Native American history, the history of slavery and abolition, Atlantic history, the Caribbean, cartography, the Civil War, reform movements, travel and exploration, among others.

The Clements offers long-term (three months), short-term (one month) and week-long fellowships, as well as a digital fellowship with no residency requirement to support the digitization of one of our collections. Applications are due by March 1, 2021, for research to be undertaken between August 30th, 2021, and September 1st, 2022.
